The battle between Hanji and Yatoru was an intense display of contrasting powers. Hanji, a master of his jutsu, wielded a formidable control over paper, while Yatoru's swift and resilient tendrils formed a formidable defense. As the battle ensued, it became evident that the difference in power was significant, with Yatoru struggling to withstand the unyielding assault of Hanji's jutsu. The tendrils, spinning in a rapid fashion, initially managed to deflect the first few hardened paper projectiles, but with each impact, the tendrils durability began to falter. Hanji's calculated strategy of using specially reinforced paper proved to be a pivotal advantage, gradually weakening Yatoru's defense. Despite the tendril's initial resilience, the relentless assault took its toll, and Yatoru found himself at a disadvantage as Hanji's jutsu tested the limits of his formidable defense.
Hanji looked on pitilessly as his merciless paper barrage overwhelmed the gravely injured Yatoru's attempts to counterattack. The genin had managed through sheer grit to raise tendrils forged of calcified lime in defense, spun rapidly to deflect the incoming sheets. But Hanji's origami projectiles were hardened and honed perfectly to pierce. With each glancing impact, more tendrils fractured and splintered. Yatoru poured his rapidly fading reserves of chakra into maintaining his technique, yet found no respite from the relentless paper onslaught as shards of his own weaponized armor rained down amidst blossoming crimson wounds.
Battered relentlessly by Hanji's ruthless techniques, Yatoru teetered at the edge of oblivion. Bones crunched audibly with every excruciating impact, his ravaged body more gruesome mosaic of lacerations than human form at this point. Hanji dove with sudden speed, closing the distance as his smile stretched inhumanly wide. With a final cackling shriek, his wing morphed into a colossal origami hammer as he swung with crushing force, intent on splattering this stubborn insect across the pitted concrete below.
The attack connected with an ugly sound of powdered bone and severed arteries. What remained of Yatoru rocketed earthward, crashing lifeless onto shattered stone steps leading down into darkness. No healing could salvage such absolute obliteration. Hanji hovered above, shuddering in sheer exhilaration.
Before Hanji could investigate further, a chilling shriek of power split the skies - the battle was far from over...
As Hanji reveled in his perceived victory, lightning-fast reflexes honed over decades of battle prompted Yonrochi to make his move. Immediately three shadow clones manifested - two to shield civilians, one to aid the gravely injured Yatoru, and the real Amekage leaping to a strategic rooftop. Barking urgent commands, Yonrochi directed the village Wind Style users to pool their chakra. Responding resolutely, they enacted a mass Wind Style: Great Breakthrough - generating a mighty gust buffer against the descending paper bomb barrage. The counteracting gale delayed the explosions' descent, buying precious seconds. Simultaneously, the blinded charge of Yonrochi's custom Wandering Six androids directly into the explosive maelstrom resulted in their utter destruction - yet also scattered deadly shrapnel in all directions as a final failsafe.
Hanji found himself surrounded by redirected paper bomb tags, arrow-like metal fragments, and the wind vortex threatening to toss even his paper form about violently. For once the smug began killer did not have utter situational dominance. Seeing opportunity amidst the chaos, the real Yonrochi targeted the instability with his ultimate technique - discharged through his weaponized prosthetic arm. Weaving signs with his human hand, glowing blue chakra engulfed the robotic appendage, synth fibers channeling and augmenting the mystical energy. With a mechanical shriek the arm lunged forward, discharging a lightning- cloaked blast that lit up Ame's perpetual overcast skies. The searing bolt lanced straight at the momentarily vulnerable assassin.
Recognizing the lethal inevitability of the combo attack cascading towards him from all directions, Hanji made no attempt to flee or defend. Instead, faced with imminent demise, his final act was to channel every last scrap of chakra towards a suicidal forbidden technique - converting his entire paper body into a singular colossal bomb (his entire body is paper bombs).
As the lightning beam pierced this morphing paper shell, it immediately triggered a cataclysmic explosion as Hanji willingly detonated himself. The resulting blast magnitude exponentially dwarfed any previous eruption, rapidly engulfing over half of Amegakure instantly in an all-consuming firestorm.
The apex of the explosion towered into the overcast skies, scorching even the bellies of the ever-present rainclouds. A shockwave flattened the remaining fragile buildings at its epicenter to mere dust. While the allied wind vortex spared many civilians behind its gale buffer, scores still perished in the raging flashover. The explosion was so powerful it would collide with the Sand District and Leaf District boarders. With no indication of the attack both neighboring villages would fall victim to the explosion as well, though would not suffer as bad as Amegakure.
As flames gradually expired and smoke blanketed the smoldering wasteland, all that remained of either combatant was Yonrochi and a few Amegakure shinobi by his side. Yonrochi had successfully sacrificed everything to take down a lethal threat...yet the victory would of felt barren surveying the absolute devastation. Amegakure had been shattered almost beyond hope of recovery this day, regardless of survival. While the Rain District remained mostly intact it's Hidden Village did not.
