Komatoo

Genin
Enter, the first blade…

The heat here almost compares to the desert. Perhaps I should’ve worn something more revealing…

The straw hat atop his head is removed with one hand, while the other simultaneously catches a few beads of sweat on his forehead. He flings his hand outward into the air, relinquishing his hand from the concoction. To no avail, sweat continues from his pores. It couldn’t be helped, and his destination was in sight. The location of the Shinobi Alliance, where the world's greatest and most renowned ninja gather. Though none could compare to the greatest Samurai of his generation.

Komato Mitsumi.

Hair made of wool, designed into twisted and contorted locs yet pressed to both sides of his face and the back of his head. A muscular and lean build covered by the garments of a stone colored Shihakusho, and Hakama. A white obi-sash to hold both blades upon the left hip; his katana and wakizashi. Feet covered by thin white socks and wooden sandals. His ebony colored skin glistened against the sunlight in the only visible places, his face and his hands. Though sporting casual attire in his travels, he was glad that he did not resort to armor plating.

His silver orbs absorb the beauty of his surroundings. The lushes grass before every step, and as he enjoyed this stroll across the grassy lands, his journey would finally come to a stop, having arrived at the very gates that would deliver him to the allied forces and even the Academy for all those who aspired to become Shinobi. What was his reason for venturing this far, arriving with no entourage? Those who are knowledgeable of Komato will understand that he needs no army. His prowess alone, made up for it.

Surpassing the threshold, Komato walks the road. He recognizes a plethora of shops that remain standing even from his days as a young man, but he’d recognize new ones that have improved greatly since then.

Has it really been years since I’ve traveled here?”

INVADING FORCE FROM THE SHADOWS - What's going on!?
1680453678111-png.2969

As grief permeated the atmosphere, a sinister presence loomed. Yumaro of the Kaguya clan unleashed skeletal appendages, that emerged from the ground. These bony constructs swiftly ensnared the citizens who had fallen under the influence of the shadows' will. However, the jutsu devised by Yumaro temporarily delayed the possessed individuals' actions by a few precious seconds. With their previous hosts incapacitated, the shadows relinquished their hold and sought new vessels to inhabit. Their insidious nature drove them to search for susceptible individuals, seeking to propagate their influence and expand their dark grip over the populace.

The situation grew more dire as the shadows sought to corrupt and possess anew, persisting in their relentless pursuit of power. The citizens, trapped in a precarious state between freedom and subjugation, faced the constant threat of becoming vessels for the shadows' sinister intent.

In the face of this overwhelming darkness, the uncorrupted shinobi and those unaffected by the shadows' influence found themselves tasked with a formidable challenge. They would devise countermeasures, resist the allure of the shadows, and find a way to break their hold on the possessed citizens before the shadows could secure new hosts, simply by killing the ones they named comrades. The battle against the shadows became a race against time, as the uncorrupted shinobi fought to free their comrades and safeguard the innocent from the clutches of this evil force by murdering them. Their resilience and determination worked as the shadow's life force had ended along with their host.

Realizing the imminent threat, Mellow and Soma, empowered by their training and resolve, unleashed scorching flames that blazed with an intensity capable of obliterating the shadows from the bodies of their human hosts. However, such powerful flames came at a cost. The victims, now freed from the shadows, suffered from severe third-degree burns, bearing the physical consequences of the intense heat unleashed upon them.

In the aftermath of this ordeal, a profound question lingered in the minds of those involved. The moral implications of the shinobi way were brought into sharp focus. Were the sacrifice of innocent lives and collateral damage justified in the pursuit of defeating such malevolent forces? It was a dilemma that forced introspection and contemplation upon the shinobi, challenging their beliefs and calling into question the inherent nature of their path.

In the face of this moral quandary, the shinobi community would need to reflect, reassess their methods, and seek ways to minimize harm while still protecting the innocent. It would be a test of their resolve and their ability to adapt, as they strived to find a delicate balance between fulfilling their duty as defenders and preserving the lives and well-being of those they swore to protect.

As the shadows proved immune to genjutsu, much like the Aburame's Kikaichū beetles, a different approach was required to break their hold. The Mizukage, utilizing their immense skill, created a brilliant illumination that pierced through the darkness. This radiant light acted as a catalyst, freeing both the shinobi and the citizens from the insidious control of the shadows.

However, the shadows, feeling their grip on their victims slipping away, resorted to a desperate measure. They merged together, forming a colossal entity that mirrored the size of a tailed beast. This formidable being was a manifestation of their combined power, a last-ditch effort to regain control and continue their reign of darkness.

New Report
1680453678111-png.2969

maxresdefault.jpg

As dedicated news reporters took to the skies, their mission was to provide real-time coverage of the unfolding events across the globe. Among the chaotic scenes captured, one particular moment stood out—the collaborative attack against the young pupil and daughter of Isamu.

Amidst the chaos and destruction, the reporters witnessed the immense power and devastation unleashed by the shinobi. The footage focused on the dramatic clash, showcasing the intense battle between Isamu's daughter and her fellow shinobi. The reporter, overwhelmed by the violence and its impact on innocent lives, posed a poignant question to the viewers: "Shinobi are killing innocent people. What is going on?"

This question reverberated through the airwaves, stirring a collective sense of confusion, concern, and outrage among the global audience. The footage showed the children, caught in the crossfire, desperately trying to escape the relentless onslaught. It captured the stark contrast between the ideals of protection and the unintended consequences of their actions.

The reporter's query echoed the sentiments of many who watched the events unfold. It raised important ethical considerations and challenged the traditional perception of shinobi as defenders of peace and justice. The conflicting images of destruction and the young lives affected prompted a critical examination of the underlying motivations and consequences of their actions.

In the wake of this public scrutiny, the shinobi community would need to confront these issues head-on, reevaluate their methods, and find ways to minimize the loss of innocent lives. The responsibility to maintain the delicate balance between protection and collateral damage would become even more paramount, as the world watched and demanded answers.

The Eye Of The Storm

As the ship docked at the Grass District, the atmosphere was heavy with grief and despair. The citizens of Kumogakure, having left their loved ones behind to the clutches of the shadows, were overwhelmed with pain and desperation. Amidst the chaos, a woman's anguished cries pierced through the air, echoing the collective heartache of those present. Her raw emotions ignited a wave of unrest, as she lashed out at anyone who tried to restrain her, fueled by her desperate desire to return to her corrupted child.

Sensing the escalating turmoil and the potential for further damage, Indira swiftly intervened. With the power of his Kanjōgan, his eyes emitted a serene blue aura that matched the color of his orbs. The empathic ability of his dojutsu allowed him to perceive the woman's profound sadness and desperation. Focused and determined, Indira concentrated his power, absorbing the woman's emotional turmoil and internalizing her pain as his own. The effect was immediate. The woman, once consumed by her anguish, became tranquil, her emotions momentarily stilled. The outburst subsided, and a sense of calm settled over the main hall of the Grass District. However, as Indira took on the burden of her sorrow, his own demeanor shifted. Tears welled up in his eyes, mirroring the depth of the woman's pain. As if in sync with his emotional turmoil, storm clouds gathered above, and rain began to fall, as if the heavens themselves wept alongside him. Amidst this poignant scene, Indira's gaze fell upon a mysterious samurai, a figure who had thus far remained stoic and unemotional. With a voice laden with sorrow, Indira reached out to the samurai, seeking a connection in shared suffering.

"Hello, traveler," he spoke softly, his words carrying the weight of the collective grief. "Have you too experienced the devastation brought forth by the shadows? The pain and loss that envelop our hearts? We stand united in this darkness, bound by our shared struggle. Please, share your story with us."

At that moment, Indira's words carried a profound sense of empathy and understanding, a beacon of solace amidst the storm. His genuine compassion and willingness to connect served as a reminder that even in the face of overwhelming despair, the bonds between people could provide strength and hope.

Aiya Akagi

0c78ff940393ad7652bded6c68888d9f.png

Today Aiya would find herself perched on the branch of a tree, absorbing the sunlight as much as she could until suddenly the very sky before her would begin to darken, a wave of turmoil filled her soul as the sky turned from its bright and happy wave into a dark and menacing stare, she had jumped off the branch and began to hover in the air for a second, thanks to her partial Bijuu transformation she was able to call upon the wings of Chomei on a moments notice, the wings flutter as she descends from the tree branch. Landing in a soft patch of grass over looked by the menacing shadows, having gulped a little, she held her arm out toward the sky, feeling its breeze and in that same moment a lonesome butterfly would have landed on the tip of her finger.

Aiya would watch as the butterfly would land on her finger before gently propelling her finger up to give the butterfly a smooth launch. Watching the same butterfly head North, very shortly after a gathering of butterflies flew over Aiya and headed North, the direction they was fleeing from was the Capital.

"I need to head home and see whats going on.. something isn't right"

It was seconds after she had spoke but felt the pull of Chomei. Her eyes closed as she had entered her own personal psyche

"Aiya. I've seen thizzzz before.."

Chomei spoke to her sealed inside of a cocoon behind the gates of a pyramid shaped prison.

"What happend?"

Aiya spoke.. blanked by Chomei and then thrown back to the own world, with the opening of her eyes she would simply stomp her foot.

"If you're going to pull me in to say just that at least give me more information!"

With that being said, she took off, her wings fluttering as she began to head toward the noise and commotion of the town.

SATORU AMATO:
At Indra's side, the young Satoru was shaken; she'd not spoken since they left. Everything happened so quickly, from one minute a new home to the next war of shadow creations. What was going on, rushed on the boat, and after a long, tedious ride she found herself at yet another strange land, The girl of sugar was now venturing from clouds to grass. The funny thing was that the others, they had all given her the same look, one of fear and unexplained anger. Whispers of other refugee shinobi caught her ear as her new brother negotiated business. She took one more grab of his outfit's tail and stood close.

Another cool thing was the headbands, some wore "alliance" headbands, while others had strange symbols unlike the rest, some had swigglies, and others had weird leaf swirl thingies. Looking calmly at the headbands, it made her cheer up. Yes, something as silly as gleaming pieces of metal had cheered the young, soon to be shinobi. even though she was an assassin, she was still a child at heart. The world of cruelty in which the shinobi remain hadn't chilled her yet. she'd yawn before taking notice of how diplomatic things were being treated, as if these monsters were allied under a nation. But it was also good to see so many shinobi with funny headbands and silly outfits coming together. Would her new brother be the leader of this?

LEGENDARY

The unplanned combo attack between him and soma was actually quite surprising to him since he didn't expect her to try fighting with him, but it was a good thing she did because there was no was he would have been able to peform a omni directional attack on his own, especially without risking Soma's safety. So that worked out for them in the end as they eventually entered the Grass District and hearing the reporters talking about them with his supernatural hearing. Though, he also took a moment to process what his twin brother said about their clan which in turn kind of worried him until he remembered that their clan excelled in darkness as well, while they couldn't merge within the shadows, they can just as easily hide and ambush their enemies. Mellow wasn't sure if those creature were actual shinobi or living shadows unable to be killed, but one thing was certain; If they can be killed then their clan would be fine so as long as they had something to feed on. The Kira branch for sure wasn't going to have a problem, nor was their mother, but the others might only be strong enough to handle themselves for a couple days without eating before they begin weakening. These thoughts flooded his memory for a moment before he spoke out in response to his brother.

Mellow: The only thing we need to worry about regarding our clan is the Shitai branch, because if there's nothing to feed on, they won't last longer than a few days. The Kira branch and our mother won't have a problem since they're amongst the strongest of our clan. Besides, we also thrive in the darkness, and as long as genjutsu works of these things there's no need to worry at all. Just make sure to keep these 2 safe, they're our top priority. We owe it to them and master Isamu for taking us in and accepting us regardless of our clan reputation.

After only a few moments, Mellow landed near a tall man with a small child clinging on to his clothing. He figured these 2 must have been a father and a daughter or of some relation. Judging by the symbols on the older man's outfit, this was definitely a cloud shinobi. When he landed, a sudden vibe of a demonic presence arrived within the area, though it wasn't because of him trying to intimidate anyone, it was the simple fact his wendigo beast heritage naturally gave him a chakra signature resembling a horrid monster. Though the signature while not extremely strong due to him only being a genin, it was still noticeable to others; However it only lasted for a few moments as he 'seemingly' cut off his entire signature as a whole.

Yuichiro stood amongst her entourage at the entrance of the ASF Headquarters with what's left of the leaders from various nations such as cloud, whirlpool, leaf, rain, stone, waterfall, and sound district while other districts went dark and obviously in enemy control. She turns to her daughter who kept the sealed Shukaku pot in her knapsack and what's left of her disciples stayed close but out of sight in case she needs them or their leader is in danger since the shadows invaded sand district and corrupted many of her disciples and children she had under her care, having to live with the blood of her people staining her hands but Yuichiro isn't the only ones haunted with the decisions made to protect the many, her shinobi and citizens had no choice but to slay their loved ones like her own assistant, Chikako, had no choice but to murder her parents and brother in order to survive "Lord Indira, welcome to the headquarters of grass district" she welcomes with a polite bow to the man before her then looks to the left seeing the current chancellor of whirlpool district, Ketsugo Uzumaki, the Red Sorcerer "Chancellor Ketsugo, welcome to Grass district, I'm happy to see you and your clan have survived this invasion so please make yourselves at home, we have resources and shelter for your people" she steps to the side allowing the redheads enter and make camp but took noticed of Nashiro, Soma, Mellow, and Xuán in the back but kept her distance, curious of the four children and their prowess as shinobi genin.

After narrowly escaping the shadows that possessed and controlled their friends, loved ones, and ninjas, Sōma remained by Mellow's side holding his hand tightly out of fear that he might get taken from her especially when the young Wendigo expressed how he felt has gotten the young chinoike princess flustered and heart beating a little faster than usual. Sōma looks at Mellow who kept his guard up since they fled the mist district alongside his brother Xuán, the twin brothers proved how strong they are against the enemy which made both Sōma and Nashiro very impressed and respect the boys even more but the youngest chinoike felt powerful from their combined efforts against the enemy and decided to give mellow a kiss on his left cheek "we protect each other, remember that" she says with a blush decorating her face while Xuán stayed beside Nashiro as his brother jumped down.

Yumaro stood at the outskirts of the gathering in the Grass District, observing the scene with a mix of curiosity and caution. The recent events in the Mist District had shaken him to his core, and he couldn't help but wonder how they might be connected to the impending meeting of world leaders taking place before him. The shadows, the vessels, the captives—it all seemed like a dark web of mysteries waiting to be unraveled. As he scanned the area, Yumaro noticed the distinguished figures of the world leaders congregating at the center. Their attire, bearing, and entourages marked them as individuals of great importance, each representing their respective nations and ideologies. The weight of their decisions and the impact they would have on the world was palpable.

Yumaro chose to position himself on the far side of the area, blending into the background as he watched the proceedings unfold. And while he had helped free some of the shadows in the Mist District, he couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility to further understand the nature of this mysterious threat. Yumaro's gaze drifted towards the world leadersHe knew that their decisions would shape the fate of nations and impact countless lives. It was a pivotal moment, and Yumaro couldn't help but feel the weight of the world resting on his shoulders. His mission now was twofold. He needed to understand the origins and purpose of the shadows that had plagued the Mist District, as well as keep a vigilant eye on the decisions being made by the world leaders gathered here. The stakes were high, and he couldn't afford to let any detail slip by unnoticed.

Far above the shadowy storm below, another storm brewed. Not a natural storm, but a directed motion of Mizukage Kazuo and his eel. Their spirits, a spark of the lightning and thunder on which they rode. To an outsider, he'd appear as a thunder god. But to his peril, he valued and mastered something else entirely: The ability to learn the value of knowledge. By his side, Mizuki understood that as well, but was spared access to thoughts pervading the world. For it became a pandemonium.
Even from there, he heard and felt hate, terror, fury. He got the accusations, the pleas, the confusion, and the news, all at once, even from high above. He checked his PDA to affirm what he felt... no signal. Wonders of technology indeed. But probably also a byproduct of moving in the air, fast. The chakra energy went so far as to partially cancel the drag effect, averting tremendous expenses in energy from flying at supersonic speeds.
And, touchdown. He recalled his eel back to its realm and, with Mizuki on his back, landed on the ground in lightning. Many could hear his descent: None were harmed, however. The thing was... he was silent as he walked to the leadership meeting. The headquarters were filled with sorrow as much as the world itself was, and whether he liked it or not... the whole torrent was getting the better of him. Imagine receiving nothing but negative emotions from around you. Hours upon hours of hearing screams, feeling fear, even as you fly over the earth. So he shut off. His mind was mute, only running a few necessary thoughts: They had to figure out the origin and intent of the shadows... and to stop them. Maybe this was easier than he thought. After all, vast rays of light were enough to dispel their possession of others. But they seemingly came out of nowhere still. And then there's the Shinobi being accused of what happened... he got that confirmed by his now-working PDA. He marched on, his Shinobi officer by his one side and Mizuki by another. You may seek Soma and others if you'd like; they are to our west nearby - he relayed to Mizuki through telepathy.
Has the evacuation succeeded? - he asked the officer

It did, but at what cost? The civilians are shattered in spirit; despite our best efforts, they suffered at least a dozen casualties from the possessed, their own and Shinobi alike. We're doing what we can to explain the situation to them, but... even I don't know what to tell them.

The truth. That we're as clueless as they are and that we're doing our best to help, as they witnessed. We'll tell them what we know when I speak with other leaders. We must speak in unison about this.

He entered the meeting at the HQ with all others with the burden of leadership like him, determined to convey two things: That they had to be forthright about everything, but most importantly, that they had to understand and dispel this threat. For it can be beaten back, but if they can return in less than a decade, the whole civilization could collapse.
