'CROOKED FOREST'—

The Crooked Forest (曲がった森, "Magattamori") is a large woodland surrounding the Land of Bells (鐘の国, "Kane no Kuni", Viz; "Bell Country"). It gets its name for the terrain in which it is placed; the Bell Country is hilly with winding grassland and forests. Because of this the trees grow sideways and seem to be crooked.

As the sun began its graceful ascent over the Land of Bells, casting a warm and inviting golden hue across the landscape, Itami Yamazaki stood poised at the precipice of the Crooked Forest. This day bore the promise of a spar with two fellow shinobi, a chance to test their skills, sharpen their abilities, and strengthen their bonds as a team. His anticipation mingled with the crisp morning air, charged with the invigorating energy of the challenge ahead. The rays of sunlight filtered through the leaves of the sideways trees, creating a mesmerizing pattern of dancing shadows on the forest floor. Each beam seemed to be a silent spectator, lending its presence to the coming battle. Itami adjusted the weight of his flak jacket, feeling the familiar hum of chakra coursing through his veins, ready to respond to his every command.

With a sense of purpose, Itami channeled his chakra, and in a seamless motion, he leaped forward. His body moved with preternatural grace and precision, a testament to years of unwavering dedication. The crooked trees blurred past him as he navigated the winding, grassy terrain, his movements an intricate dance that defied the laws of gravity.
The temperature was pleasantly cool, a gentle caress on his skin as he weaved through the forest. A soft breeze rustled the leaves, carrying with it the scent of the earth and the promise of adventure. Itami couldn't help but relish the thrill of the chase, the exhilaration of the spar that awaited him.

His senses sharpened as he skidded to a halt in a small clearing, the sun now bathing the area in a radiant glow. The distant chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves became a symphony of nature, each note a vital clue to the whereabouts of his teammates.

With a confident smirk, Itami raised his hand, forming a series of hand seals with the precision of a seasoned master. His chakra surged, creating an almost imperceptible shimmer in the air around him. It was a silent declaration, a proclamation that he was ready to begin.

"Let's see what you've got," he murmured to himself, his voice carrying the edge of a challenge. In the heart of the enigmatic Crooked Forest, where the very trees seemed to lean in with curiosity, Itami awaited the arrival of his fellow shinobi, eager to commence their spirited exchange.

A gaseous-like white bolt silently surged through the forest floor. Picking up speed it would appear that it was nearing his teammate; slowing down the bolt began to flare up like white fire. This was non-other known as Frost Style, an ice Release originated by Ōyama. Upon his arrival, it would appear that two techniques were currently active. One being his crystalized chakra armor, and the second his boundless step skill. Halting, he'd scan the perimeter, note the pull and push of the wind, and any disturbances from anything his size to trail his comrade through the forest. Spotting him in the distance he'd prepare to lunge towards him before scanning for the enemy, if they were nearby he would've spotted them using air pressure sensory.

"Ususama Style... Frost Release"
A mist would appear to follow his bolt of white pulling the wind into a vortex causing the area to fog along the lower floors. But onto more important matters, the serpentine's spine or tail is namely the cause of affinity transformation. Instead of ice release his chakra translates it as frost. Due to the Yang of the said dragon's serpentine tail the person who succeeds in this operation would have a phenomenal ability with not only natural affinities but physical as well.

The hunt! The HUNT! It was the only thing that ever made him feel alive! The hunt was where the game was, the hunt was where the fun was! Without the hunt, there was not fun at all, just a vast void, an abyss. But when the hunt was on, the game was on! It was gone, the numbness, it was utterly gone! There was nothing but joy pulsating through his veins and the numbness was no more! Shifting through the woodland silently, jumping from branch to branch with suppressed chakra, it was as if he could see the world anew again. With the smell of the carpeted greenery overwhelmingly filling his nostrils and the sensation of the air kissing against his skin, he felt the beauty of the world—was this what it felt like to be alive?

The foliage of the woodlands masked not only his appearance, but also his smell. He gracefully moved across the forest silently and with grace, not upsetting the balance of nature in even the tiniest fashion including the air. It was as if he wasn’t even there to begin with and merely a spectator of the world, not a part of it. He wasn’t the only one. There was one other with him, brothers in arms you could say. Together, they made up two-thirds of the infamous unit known as Kōtta Shikai. Their mask would give away who they associated with, but beyond that? There was nothing. There was no marker outright identifying their place of origin or even a rumor of who they were behind the mask. Yet they were known well and widely for being …problem solvers, for a lack of a better word. While they spoke no words, their presence would signify what was to come.

Set up under the guise of a sparring session as another nation, what they were here to do was far more gruesome. This was premeditated murder, through and through. By the time they had located the two, which took minimal effort, they remained hidden and suppressed as he observed from the outskirts. Glancing over at his teammate, he’d nod his head confirming that these indeed were the targets they had been sent out for. Without so much as a hesitation, the cold air that Itami had grazed through on the way here would begin to transform into an icy mist that would kiss their skin. Chakra. Had any of them been focusing on tracking chakra, which they had not, they would’ve noticed chakra molding right above them. By that time, it was too late.

The mist would enshroud the entire area, capable of covering an entire football stadium. Visibility would become a severe issue as while they were right next to each other, they would not be able to see each other one bit. By the time the mist had fully materialized, Yumaro would have already sprung into action.

Silence...

It was an uncomfortable thing for many individuals in existence. Silence served as the prelude and the epilogue to many situations. The members of Kōtta Shikai embodied it and represented various other meanings of the word. Each member held their collective reputation with pride and honor, reflecting their seriousness through actions more than words. Today, silence symbolized not only who they were but also what would become of their opponents. The members of Kōtta Shikai saw this as a battle, one to...

He moved with fluidity, seemingly dancing as he maneuvered through the foliage. His motions flowed with grace, blending seamlessly into the natural world around him. He remained practically invisible to his enemies, existing like a phantom with his chakra suppressed. His actions were silent, and even a trained hound wouldn't be able to differentiate his scent, which had melded perfectly with the environment. Like his partner, they appeared as beings observing the world through a different lens. Concealed in both appearance and presence, with their opponents not actively searching for them via chakra sensory, it was time for them to begin.

In response to the nod, both hands quickly pressed against the ground's surface. The rapid action was committed, and consequently, the surface began to break apart, accompanied by the sound of the ground quaking. It was far from silent; tree roots were being cleaved through, bedrock was being pierced, and trees were splintering, with some even beginning to tumble downward yet would be halted by the strength of the bones. It was nothing short of remarkable how effortlessly the bones maneuvered beneath the surface, doing so expeditiously. At an alarming rate that even threatened the targets, they burst through various surfaces with ease due to their density and hardness, surpassing that of tempered steel and possessing a sharpness capable of piercing through even a berserker's taijutsu exterior with minimal difficulty. The force was undeniable, not only threatening to skewer his opponents into mangled bits but also extending across a radius equivalent to a football field. Each bone extended fifteen feet above ground, and as a consequence of their rupture, it shattered the frost fog that had sought to loom. The fog was immediately dispersed and broken apart, setting the stage for the Frozen Dead Sea.

A commendable amount of chakra was expended, although not enough to tire out a member of the elite organization. This was attributed to the mastery of his unique ability and his stupendous chakra control. With an unsuspecting strike emerging from underground and another threat looming from above, each timed harmoniously through years of chemistry, the masked man anticipated a duo skewered in a fog of densely packed ice mist. Its full manifestation aligned with the complete materialization of his partner's mist.

Immediately after completing the bone garden, Yumaro used the reverse summoning technique to grasp Nuibari in his right hand. Following its appearance in his hand, he quickly submerged himself into the layer of bone to enter the garden he had created. With bones everywhere and his presence concealed within, he maneuvered about. But to where exactly? Soon, he vowed to himself that silence would once again fall upon this area.

As the icy mist began to shroud the clearing, obscuring visibility and sound, Itami's instincts kicked in. Years of training and honing his sensory skills had made him hyper-aware of even the subtlest disturbances in the environment. He felt the ground tremble beneath his feet, a telltale sign of something amiss.
In an instant, Itami leaped upward, defying the earth's embrace. He ascended with a burst of chakra-infused speed, propelled by his Boogie-Woogie Style. The world around him slowed as he soared through the air, a brief moment of weightlessness before gravity's grip took hold once more.

His eyes scanned the mist-shrouded battlefield, searching for any signs of his hidden adversaries. The bone garden erupted from the ground with a cacophony of destruction, threatening to ensnare anyone in its deadly embrace. But Itami was already in motion.
Drawing upon his Bakuton Explosive Release, he channeled his chakra with unparalleled precision. The very air around him crackled with explosive potential. Itami's movements were a ballet of destruction as he unleashed a barrage of explosive kunai in all directions.

Each kunai carried the explosive force of his Bakuton Reeling with enough force to shatter this chakra-infused bone and suddenly evaporate this chakra-infused mist, turning the mist into a maelstrom of detonations. The forest around him erupted in a series of deafening explosions, shattering the trees and scattering bone fragments in all directions.

In the midst of the chaos, Itami's Boogie-Woogie Style came into play. With a series of rapid movements, he teleported from one point to another with unparalleled speed. It was as if he danced through the battlefield, leaving explosive devastation in his wake.
The mist, bone garden, and any remnants of his hidden foes were obliterated in the fiery inferno of his Bakuton. The very ground quaked beneath the onslaught, and the air was thick with the acrid scent of destruction.

Finally, as the smoke and debris began to settle, Itami stood at the epicenter of the devastation, his chakra-infused kunai still clutched in his hand. He was unscathed, a testament to his skill and power. His senses remained sharp, vigilant for any signs of further danger.
With a satisfied grin, he called out into the clearing, his voice carrying an air of confidence. "Is that all you've got?" His words hung in the smoky aftermath, a challenge to any who dared to face him.

Amidst the smoldering aftermath of the explosive onslaught, Itami's keen senses remained locked onto the presence of the hidden foe within the bone garden. The cacophony of destruction had done more than obliterate the mist and bone; it had exposed the enemy's location through sheer chaos.
Itami's heart raced with exhilaration as he harnessed his Boogie-Woogie Style once more. With a thought, he was instantly propelled through space, teleporting toward the epicenter of the bone garden's remains. His movements were fluid and effortless, a testament to his mastery of this unique technique.

As he materialized amidst the still-settling debris, his eyes scanned the area with unwavering focus. He could feel the residual chakra of his adversaries, like glowing embers in the darkness. Itami's Boogie-Woogie Style was more than just a flashy teleportation technique; it allowed him to discern the unique chakra signatures of those around him.
The mist had been blown away, the bone garden reduced to shattered remnants. Amidst the chaos, he spotted the one who had hidden within. Itami's eyes locked onto the figure, a silent promise of retribution in their depths.

With a burst of speed that defied comprehension, Itami closed the distance between them in an instant. The element of surprise was on his side; the enemy, having just unleashed their own attack, likely found themselves disoriented and off-balance.
Itami's movements were a blur as he closed the gap. He could see the glint of a blade, the telltale sign of the enemy's intentions. There was no time to waste. His Bakuton-enhanced reflexes allowed him to react with split-second precision.
In a whirlwind of motion, he deflected the enemy's strike with a kunai, the clash of metal against metal ringing out in the clearing. Itami's chakra-infused strength came into play as he redirected the attack, sending the assailant stumbling backward.

Without pause, Itami seized the advantage. His explosive-enhanced speed and reflexes were unparalleled. He closed in on the disoriented foe, striking with a barrage of explosive-enhanced punches and kicks. Each blow was like a detonation, the force of the explosions propelling the enemy backward with bone-shaking impact.
Itami's determination was unwavering as he pressed the assault, his movements a relentless onslaught of explosive power. The enemy's defenses crumbled in the face of such overwhelming force.

As thick bone broke through the surface the ground would lift up causing small mounts which the bone stood up from, causing a dispersing of mist which would slowly evaporate. HFF! Jumping upward the concentrated liquids around his body would lighten his temple as he rose up higher and higher defying gravity. Bones raced with the pace but to no avail as the disturbance of the ground's tremor gave away that a jutsu was being implemented. Standing upon the tip of one of highest bone mounts of the technique the male would inhale deeply to initiate the primal function of his flooding technique. Flooding (洪水 Kōzui) is another body art derived from the intelligence of Konoha’s 8 Gates, Suna’s 7 Heavenly Breaths, Body Revival, Yin Healing Wound Destruction, Ryujima’s mutated chakra system, Ryusejo, and the usage of chakra or chakra control based on the samurai bushishu philosophy located in the Frost District. This concept centers releasing tension and stress in the user allowing them to grow stronger due time. The Complete Concentration breaths are the key to his technique as the breaths slowly excite the blood in the body, fortifying every inch of the body until the user becomes this unstoppable force of nature. Flooding in a sense is a technique that involves a pure / clean meditation, it also detoxes the body of poisons & spiritual impurities. The ability is only taxing when one’s resolve is faint or faith is wavered, hence the name as a reflection of rain or pouring; similar to crying or releasing, aka letting go.

Blood would begin to pick up due to his water affinity and his passageway increased due to his air affinity causing him to surpass his normal physical limits. The Ports of Emotion (共感, Kyōkan), Located in the left hemisphere of the heart, this gate removes the user's mental inhibitions similar to the Gate of Opening Technique. Blood that circulates through the heart carries chakra throughout the body which slowly enables a keen sensibility to their surroundings. Tapping into this gate allows the user to perform with more mental clarity, enhancing their general focus and awareness of self as well as the user's surroundings of half an mile's radius.

Jumping from the bone spike he'd begin withdrawing his blade before signing personal handsignatures crafted to suit his style of ninshu. Swan, Aligator, Bear, Horse handseals were made before a shroud of water would hiss from his body beginning to crystalize his blood sweat and tears into hardened chakra that placed over his body as if it were armor. "I guess there isn't an need to hold back" he'd say hawking down one of the two opponents ascending the same time as Itami. It was one in particular he could feel upon his heels though his speed was unmatched by normal shinobi as his boundless step technique surpassed even that of body flicker. "Once you've smoked them out lets try to separate them" he'd finalize while dancing around the explosions.

HSSSSSsssss. A smoke clears just below him as he asended even his comrad to keep an better watch on him he'd begin simmering down before landing upon an large river stone that just so happen to miss the destruction of his explosive prowess. A solidifying of crackling would resonate the clear field as he searched for the secondary contender, with his sword unsheath he was currently ready to showdown. "
Lets make this quick."

They probably thought they were brilliant in overcoming the Garden of Bones. Perhaps they even believed they were quick-witted and instinctive as they both soared into the sky with their evasive maneuver while under the assumption they were up there free from the mist that shrouded their vision, that they’d be able to create a moment's advantage in order to locate their enemies. They would be right, but this was one of those instances where you regret being right. This was because, by the time they had even broken through the mist and started looking around, they would immediately find their opponent without any challenge, there movements seen through with absolute ease. This was because their opponent was right before their eyes staring right back at them through every single angle.

Hijutsu: Makyō Hyōshō
(秘術・魔鏡氷晶, “Secret Technique: Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals”)

Like an earth dome designed to keep one entrapped, the mirrors of ice surrounded both of them with no room left to escape. This would give away many things to the opponent. One, these shinobi were more than likely from the Land of Water, but not whether or not they were agents of Kirigakure, or rogue shinobi that have gone. Two, they were experienced and had expected the Kage to dodge their initial attack and had gone directly into their next setup attack. Now, what was left unanswered was whether or not they’d survive this onslaught or not. Within these mirrors they’d see the mirrors extending their arm out releasing five senbon from all thirty-two mirrors as an onslaught on senbon slaughter would begin before the other two would even be able to put together their attacks.

Not only would the senbons be an issue, but they were coated with a special toxin that would not be created from chakra. They were dipped several times in the shinobi’s summon, the blue-ringed octopus’ venom, carrying over enough toxin to kill over half a hundred men with a single poke. The shinobi they were up against ensured that there would be not a single angle left open as he moved at light speed from each mirror continuing the onslaught. Meanwhile, Yumaro would continue prepping as the air around them would extensively drop in temperature. The cool, icy touch that kissed their skin now becoming a blistering sensation that opened their skin. It was becoming harder to breathe and ice crystals would break off from some of the mirror hovering around their source of limited oxygen.

What else could there possibly be?

LEGENDARY
'LISTEN AND READ'
The stage was set, and whenever it is, all that needs to be done is for the show to commence without blemish. The play was rehearsed several times over; this was why both operatives from the mist maneuvered with grace and fluidity. The manifestation of their cohesive actions was through trial and tribulation; this level of chemistry was designed by skill and that alone. Each individual was elite within their own respects; however, together they were a nuisance to anyone, or more accurately, they were the last thing anyone ever saw. The play was always a quick one, and this date between combatants was not to be any different from any prior experience.

The surface level of the ground lay shattered, punctured, and cleaved through by the sheer physical prowess of the Mist Operative's Kekkei Genkai. This cataclysmic display forced the opposition into a desperate retreat, their panicked figures resembling ants scurrying in a frantic rush. Distracted and cornered, they found themselves trapped in a constricting labyrinth of choices, each one offering a sliver of hope in a rapidly dwindling span of time.No mercy graced the Mist Shinobi's intentions; instead, he amplified the grim reality that unfolded before him, anticipating a gruesome tableau painted in blood and strewn bones. As the hapless adversaries took their desperate leap into the abyss of the atmosphere, the other member of the Legendary Mist Group initiated the next chapter of their meticulously choreographed performance. A shimmering spectacle unfolded as mirrors of ice materialized, encircling the opponents from every conceivable angle. Their options for escape dwindled to near nothingness, the probability of survival reduced to a mere whisper. It was akin to being ensnared by an inexorable horde of ravenous piranhas, a relentless and inescapable fate. In the intricate dance between the two partners, perilous conditions unfurled with a cruel elegance, painting a vivid portrait of danger that would be etched into the memories of those unfortunate enough to witness it.

Each mirror stood steadfast, its glacial surface a mere fifteen feet from the hapless adversaries, forming an unyielding perimeter that enveloped them from all tangible angles. Inside this frozen fortress, their very existence teetered on the brink of annihilation. The malevolent atmosphere, with its icy tendrils, bore down upon them mercilessly, its frigid temperatures threatening not only their bodies but also their very life essence. In the heart of this arctic nightmare, their lungs may have gasped for warmth, and their bodies perhaps quivering with the ominous specter of pulmonary fibrosis and other vital functions hanging in the balance. As for the partner of the Mist Shinobi, their prowess was a deadly work of art. A virtuoso of treacherous speed and wicked sorcery, with movements that defied comprehension. ime compressed into a heartbeat, and the trapped opponents found themselves grappling with a whirlwind of considerations. The urgency of their predicament hung heavy in the air, painting a vivid portrait of danger that clung to their every thought.

The Mist Shinobi wasted no time as his opponents leaped into the air, their ascent fueled by ignorance of the peril that awaited them above. He was a shinobi of action, and he sprang into motion with swiftness and purpose. The perfect opportunity had presented itself to employ the Nuibari, a weapon renowned for its piercing capacity. With a fluid motion that was almost graceful, Yumaro's left hand withdrew from a slender bone from the garden. In a deft flick of the wrist, he hurled the Nuibari through the garden's landscape. The weapon's sleek, needle-like blade gleamed ominously, promising swift and merciless destruction as it streaked through the air. The Nuibari moved with a staggering velocity, navigating the garden's surreal terrain. Yumaro's hand rose and fell repeatedly, in and out, weaving a mesmerizing pattern that nearly mirrored Saburo's own swift movements. The needle-sword traced a diversified path through the garden, its motion both mesmerizing and deadly. s it danced effortlessly, the Nuibari soon found its place within Yumaro's waiting hand, ready to strike once more. It had threaded through the myriad skeletal bones, wrapping around them with unerring precision. The pattern Yumaro wove with the Nuibari was a masterpiece of deception. To the unsuspecting adversaries above, it appeared as a complex but seemingly meaningless tapestry of motion. They could not fathom the intricate design that concealed a deadly web below. As Yumaro completed his lethal dance, the Nuibari's wires lay in wait for the soon-to-be descending bodies of his opponents. Oblivious to the danger lurking beneath, they were poised to descend right into the meticulously crafted trap of wires. These wires, in terms of sharpness, were akin to obsidian or graphene, poised to cut through flesh and bone with ruthless efficiency.

Hidden within the eerie garden of bones, the Mist Shinobi harnessed his chakra with precision, causing the mist to thicken and coalesce into an impenetrable shroud. This newfound density rendered any attempts to peer beyond the wall of ice mirrors utterly futile. Beneath this cloak of obscurity, the legend bided time even though minute. Victory was the sole outcome that lay in wait, every move a testament to unparalleled skill and teamwork.
