"Proximity to wealth deludes some into believing they possess it."
Snowfall continued outside of the window. It was getting late in the day which frustrated Kechi because he was the sort to accomplish much in short periods of time. At one second his seat was empty and the next he was in it, legs under his desk and right hand pressed upon his forehead. Beads of sweat dripped onto the reddish cloth while his left hand reached into his drawer to pull out a clear glass container with small red pills. Opening the contained as he leaned back in his seat he'd take two of the pills and close it, placing it back into the drawer while simultaneously shoving them in his mouth and swallowing. This was the price he paid for his kekkei genkai - the price of the
Shunjichoshin. The red pills were appropriately named
Kenkōiji Pills (健康維持の錠剤) which translated to Health Preservation Pills. He loathed them and waited eagerly for the day when he would no longer need to consume them. Taking a final breather, the man closed his eyes and sat up straight.
For the time being his office was rather sparse - it was under construction, as per usual. Kechi had an eye for the finer things and so those who knew him knew that his various officers were always under construction at one point or another. Reaching to his right he'd grab one of the gray scrolls and unravel it - the kanji for the name
"Kiseki Isogi" was written in pink at the top with various instructions below as well as a picture of her and details of her abilities and background. Before Kechi could speak with Yubi and Kojin he would need to send the others off on an assignment, one to retrieve this young mysterious girl. Giving everyone time to show, he'd speak once they were all assembled.
"Keji, Zeze, and you - Kuragari. The three of you are to fetch something, or rather... someone, for me in the Land of Water."
Surely there would be an air of surprise. Hadn't he just assailed Kuragari in the meeting room? Certainly so! So what was the meaning of this? Having obtained a lock of the boy's hair and storing it in one of his drawers, Kechi knew that Kuragari would never be able to defy him again... but he also knew that the boy was strong.
"Her name is Kiseki Isogi." Perhaps Keji would remember who this was... but certainly Yubi would. This was his daughter whom he had denied. Reports of her speed and ability, however, convinced him that she was indeed something special. Perhaps he could gain something from examining her... particularly because she had been reported as sickly which was odd for an Isogi her age.
"Be quick about it as I am aware that you are all quite familiar with the state of things. As we speak I am ordering a special barrier to be produced throughout the island so as to secure our valuables in time of distress." Never did he mention the people. Was anyone surprised?
"Kuragari you will lead this task. Failure is not an option and if you wish to have what you desire most..." he'd say, glancing upon Kanora his little sister.
"You will be successful. Do you understand?" as he spoke he raveled up the scroll and handed it forward to Kuragari.
"If you have no questions leave at once."
