Nemui Temple (眠り, "Temple of Slumber")
An ancient temple of the Land of Sleep where the High Priestess who watches over the spiritual plane of the nation in order to protect it must slumber for her entire life. It is said that she only wakes up twice every year. People from around the nation and region come to the temple to offer incense and pray while some leave donations so that the monks, priests and priestesses can buy food and essential goods, seeing as they do not have secular jobs.

"Say...Kaki. Whatever happened to that lady?" A voice murmured, it was almost as if it was eating him alive. Within the domain of a small room, there was a training session to be held to determine a line, it was evident that the elder had won against his young compatriot, in doing so the elder had retained the unspoken mantle of the strongest between them. The elder brother's name was Kaki and the other, Suiki. Those men are tasked to protect Miwaku and to ensures that even the wicked ones fell before they could even step into the place although the question caused the man to ask. "Who?" He murmured in response, a single clash can be heard as their swords made contact. Their forehead was covered in their sweats, a sign of their effort to occupy their time and to prevent themselves from becoming rusty. "You know. That good for nothin' trai-" he was interrupted by the other before he could form the word traitor. "That lady is still our master's," the elder brother replied. A tch can be heard from the black-haired. "Even with that vixen being all so powerful... she's still needed...in protecting the country" he whispered. The elder smiled as he looked over at the displeased Suiki, little did they know. They were oblivious to the truth about the story they were told.

Meanwhile... in what can be described as an entry into the temple from the mysterious location.

The moment the Yugata kneed down to place her hand a sentence that was so incredibly sorrowful and yet it was enough to provoke her to whisper.
"I suppose that'd be the case if she was... even dead, to need a company in the first place" she murmured. What did she mean by that? Who knows what she was speaking of. Only times will tell... From their whereabouts, she was able to form the same hand seal once again though this time she was able to open a hole that led from the secretive location they were in into the basement in which led directly toward the chamber housing Priestess Miwaku. Suddenly, she was questioned on her intent and abilities. "Me? Powerful Spiritual Energy?" Kechi spoke on her spiritual energy though to them it was evident that she didn't accept what they had to say. "You gotta' kidding me..." she murmured, her voice was full of denial. That is because. She, after all, was dealing with an issue in which made her so insecure about her own abilities and capabilities to a point she was in denial about her own abilities.

In the Temple where it was still the home to Jiyu the priestess in training, she was practicing to succeed her master's in order to protect her as her right hand, though her other job was to take care of Miwaku who she later considers as a surrogate child a replacement for her stillborn child; little did she know her master had done something in secret behind her back. Her master was mediating the balance between the spirits and the Land of Sleep, keeping the peace in so that the humans can live leisurely not knowing the fear of the wicked spirits. Though the arrival of Izanamimikoto was the final factor in ending the peace between the spirits and humans resulting in the priestess terminating numerous demons and wicked spirits from within the Country, in doing so she was depleted of her power and this was what led to a change in Jiyu's loyalty. You see... Her master was anything but wicked she saw that there was no alternative but to become stronger in order to protect the Country than the choice before her. And she did indeed. But at a great cost.
"What have you done!?"
1613421927734.png

She exclaimed, although her body can be seen to be covered in her blood and sweat she was without assistance and support against a familiar opponent. "I did it for this country, for you, and for Miwaku." A woman murmured, though she was covered in an incredible burst of spiritual energy it was underlined in wicked steam it was her master that she was facing in battle. "But this?! You're no better than those wicked spirits then ...mother!" Jiyu rebutted. "You wouldn't comprehend what it means to be a priestess, to do everything in your power to protect the balance, child." the woman susurrated her voice was but justified corruption filling the void between the letters she was able to sever the connection between her and her student.
1613422528449.png

And then it was cut out, resurfacing to the current whereabouts of Jiyu and she paused. She was questioned.

"Am I hiding something?" She murmured in response to Kechi and Kasumi.

Taking a glimpse at the duo as she appears to be rather solemn, removing the usual carefree demeanor she had put on. It would be absurd for the duo to believe that she was all but serious as it was just a play to have herself undermined by people around her and that is how she survives all of those years though it was clear that she wasn't stalling for time.
"No. Everything I've said and told you is of the truth. I'm here to put a stop on Miwaku, no matter what it takes." She continued. "And... I want to save my daughter," she murmured as she entered the hall, though it appears that by now... the woman had flinched at the presence of the Yugata. For they all are connected in a way that they could always discover their kin near them no matter what. This is what enabled Miwaku to encounter an unsightly sensation through her body causing her to wake but not entirely. She would wake the moment the Yugata walks into the same room as her, but for now, she was proceeding to mediate the peace between the spiritual world and Land of Sleep.

"Well. Let's go check on Lady Miwaku" Suiki murmured, approaching the elder with such a grimace. "Just to make sure. Ya know. She's still asleep doing her priestess thingy doing the bam wham, shaobocbo boom and priestessy sparklies glows. Bye bye demons." He maintained his demeanor though he was descriptive with his hands making the boom gesture provoking Kaki to glance at his associate with such uncertainty. "Wow. You have such a way with words, sometimes. Sui." he murmured in disdain. "Are you sure you're not a storyteller?" he said, rather sarcastic in his words. Though they were making their way toward the Priestess's chamber, it is noted that they are coming from the opposing direction in which led into the same hall that they were about to enter as the trio. Though, will they make it in time?

The interior of the temple was much different than the exterior; it was true that the shroud on the outside shielded prying eyes from what was taking place in the courtyard. Fortunately for this party, however, they had an escort who would show them how to enter the temple through the "back-door". Meanwhile, the corpses from earlier had fully manifested in their power, taking on the form of the guru himself. Their appearance had been protected with the golden hooded coat while their once sluggish movements seemed to be growing more natural until they reached the same capacity as Kechi normally wielded. While the two followed the woman named Jiyu out of the stone complex the mad-scientist briefly looked back to the direction of the cadavers. One of them would instantaneously blink out of "existence", leaving the country altogether. He took a route on the Spirit Highway toward the west continents, making light-work of the distance. The other would use the aforementioned jutsu to open a hole in the cave belonging to Jiyu so that he could enter without needing to cause a ruckus. Once inside he would flip through every corner of the premises with astonishing speed, collecting more of the crystals on the walls and quickly using the heightened senses of his kekkei genkai to read any scroll, document or book found about. Who knew what the woman might've been hiding here? Perhaps it was something intriguing...

Stepping over to the gravesite the four foot five inch man motioned both of his hands with fingers pointed toward the grave of the elder Yugata, initiating the same peculiar technique from before - the Living Ghost Corpse Technique (生霊の死人の術, '"Ikiryō no Shibito no Jutsu") which would enable him to control the corpse even if it was simply skeletal - to the degree he desired. After collecting the necessary information the doppleganger cadaver exited the cave in the same manner in mentioned, sealing it back up. Using "fourth step" of his kekkei genkai known as Shipo (四歩, "Four Steps", Viz: "Step Four"), he made his determination clear; the Two Tails chakra monster was also a priority, one he would not ignore. Meanwhile, the corpse which had left the Land of Sleep made its way toward the Land of Earth.

Back at the temple the guru stood at a back-way entrance whose doors just silently shut behind the party of three. "So... this is the Nemuri Temple..." Thought the man as he looked up and around, observing whatever he could. Passing Jiyu up abruptly, the rude man's small stature seemed oddly comically when observed from a view with him in his golden hooded cloak. Like a rabbit in an open field the man's left ear twitched. "Someone's coming..." Kechi turned to Kasumi and nodded to her. "Kazekage - go to the priestess. You, woman, go with her. I'll handle things here." Briskly turning this back to them, Kechi took a single step forward and disappeared from both sight, view and perception, instead appearing a mere meter in front of the two monks. Behind him was a route for Kasumi and Jiyu to travel to the chambers where the priestess slept. Kechi acting as a decoy? Something must've been up...

She wasn't sure if the pressure in her brain was fatigue or irritation. Having to deal with as many enemies as she did had delayed her return home, and Miwaku's body was not going to possess itself. Lady Kasumi and Lord Kechi had spent the past 56 hours fighting their way through guards to get to the sleeping priestess, and now they were so close she could taste it.

With her Fallen Warrior Blade* in hand, she was unstoppable and had managed to conserve as much chakra as was reasonable by resorting to only Sojutsu techniques that required but a graceful swing of her spear. She was a force to be reckoned with, and as soon as one entered her AoI, they were cut down with ease. And those that didn't want to come close, were struck down by two of her summons, the Wronged Oni and Sora the fox.

And now she was staring directly at Miwaku Yugata, the daughter of a Yugata woman who had run off to join the Order of the Priestess, a mere 10 meters away, her ethereal form floating a few feet off the ground.

"Young Miwaku..." Kasumi began, her voice authoritative, but gentle. "I think that it is time for you and your friends to stand down. Perhaps we can come to some sort of arrangement?" Her large companion loomed behind her, staring threateningly at Miwaku, but his senses were tuned on the two remaining guards that were facing Kechi. Electricity crackled around Kasumi's neck, signaling that Sora was present, though it was clear that her attention was directed elsewhere. "Please, abandon your fight."

She might've looked off guard, as though she would be easy to overcome, to run over, but the deadly air that leaked over the Kazekage served as a warning. Her mind spoke to Miwaku, informing her of exactly what would happen should she continue to fight against Kasumi and Kechi.

"Stay where you are!" A warrior exclaimed as he proceeded to ridicule while persisting to endure the barrage of attacks of the man who had managed to dodge some of his techniques. "You fleet-footed scoundrel!" Suiki bellowed, unleashing a powerful wave of spiritual energy through the spear allowing the man to spin in such a precision allowing a constant barrage of spiritual energy to be blasted through in a projectile flight and continued to follow as a blur can be seen across the hall leaving behind afterimages in which the jutsu hits and yet it didn't touch the actual person. At the same moment, an unconscious woman can be discovered beneath the priestess - this appeared to be Jiyu eventful treachery on Kasumi's part when she had suggested for Miwaku to descend down in response to abandon the current vessel - little did she know. Miwaku, at least the child Jiyu raised, was no longer around nor exists in the Pureland as an individual soul. For you see this is a particular technique she intended to use on the unfortunate woman before them - by making use of the unique hand seal her eyes were able to glow in the white as her soul begun to depart from the body the previous eighth souls could be seen in the background acting like a hivemind. Knowing that she had no time and she was at her eighth vessel making this of the most important and abandoned the child's body for her to take control of Jiyu.

"Finally... A new vessel!" She exclaimed, finding herself to be much more powerful than usual. This would be felt by those who are sensitive to spirituality and then... the presence of Miwaku had found herself to be submerged by the outstanding yet limitless energy of the woman that is her daughter.

"Huh? What is going on...-" She miscalculated. Her daughter possessed an energy that couldn't be even compared to her own - nor Kasumi and Kechi - and this is what would be the end of the Priestess. While she was doing the right thing by protecting the peace at any cost she was anything but innocent as she had done so much that could be considered as evil - even the Great Yang or better known as the Divine One would be displeased by her actions.

And from within a great battle had occurred - Jiyu appeared to be embracing her true self she had been in denial about - which was to be a priestess, whose tasked to balance the world. This includes even those who intended to upset the balance like her mother causing her to realize that she was indeed chosen by the Earth in its dying wish in which was slowly corrupted by a virus. Through the power, she had then been bestowed she was able to understand - to be able to hear thoughts - to be able to see the past - present - future in tandem she was in shock of what was about to come... Though this was similar to a particular priestess who had a familiar meltdown in Land of Fire. - this too would be felt by that priestess.
".......I won't be defeated by an infant like you!" she exclaimed out of sheer anger.
"Get. Out. GET. OUT. GEEEEET OUT!" Jiyu bellowed - from a single glance she was able to see all of the memories in which were imprinted onto the planet - this includes the intimate memories of Kechi as well as Kasumi Yugata. It was proven to be rather irritable and from within a powerful burst of spiritual energy could be felt - before it fully erupted taking down the building with her. Causing the evacuation of its residents including Suiki and Kaki to depart the moment they sensed the build-up. Had Kasumi and Kechi noticed this sudden change they were advised to depart from the temple after acquiring everything they needed. From the scrolls and weapons, Kechi had acquired the scroll to a particular technique and in the other scrolls, it illustrates a plausible divine orb that could be found in Land of Fears, Land of Gurus, and Land of Money had he read it. Though it is noted that it is nearly impossible to know whether it is true or not, or even if any of the lands even has one.

Few hours later...

The temple crumbled in the presence of a powerful blast - and for a time it was assumed that she had perished as she was the source of explosion engulfing the temple from within. Though a rumor from the people around the Chuku Forest notes that whenever it's nighttime they could hear a burst of familiar laughter in which can be located within the deepest area of the forest with a child's voice following right after.

"It's good to be back."
8db385b75d22854451768d7057e0f2b7.png

She had what she wanted. And she needed to go. Her hands gently felt the new frame of her body, gently lifting her leg and rotating her wrist as she got a new handle on her figure. She took a couple of steps in hef new vessel before nodding affirmatively. "It's so nice to be back!" She was slightly giddy at the words, feeling good to be back in the flesh. "I have so much to do! So many rights to wrong!"

Her people were the first thing on her mind. She needed to return to the Land of Wind and rid it of anything that wretched Land of Fire may have tried putting in place. Now that she was back in the physical plane, the thoughts of the Yugata clansmen were reaching into her loud and clear, communicating to her just exactly what had been happening in her absence to her country.

The air around Kasumi would lighten, as she brought two fingers up to her chest a small glowing ball brightly above the two fingers. She turned around and the orb floated gently off her finger to the space between her and Ketsugo. Before she left, she grabbed the crystal ball that Miwaku had been using to monitor them.

"Thank you, Lord Kechi, for your help. While I cannot stay long this," She gestured to the orb. "Will give you everything that you need." She bowed casually to the now taller male the orb now containing all of the functionings of the Yugata's abilities bobbing in the air between them. "I'll see you soon." There was a slight playfulness to her voice as she began to leave, as though she was looking forward to it.

Her body erupted in light, in ethereal light as she entered the Spiritual Highway. While it seemed to move in slightly accelerated to her, as if she was taking a couple of steps, she moved at the speed of light, traveling in little under than 3 minutes from the Land of Sleep to the Land of Wind, finding herself back in her office.

When one battles with limited intensity their effectiveness is diminished - Kechi had no other choice. He knew that his real target was some miles away and a certain configuration of himself was already there, no doubt observing. That iteration of him, however, would undoubtedly be insufficient for such a task - the task of capturing the Two Tails. So this particular battle raged on longer than one might've desired. The incredibly effective medicine given to him by his attendant was not enough. Throughout the battle he quite literally stole the life force of the High Priestesses' guards which allowed him to persist longer than the usual. Suiki was a fool if he believed that he could contend with Kechi, a man reported to be the Fastest Man in the World (世界最速の男, “Sekai Saisoku no Otoko”, Viz: "World's Fastest"). Throughout the conflict he switched from perceiving the spiritual plane and spiritual energy to combat and so during their despite the man could clearly see what Suiki attempted and instead drew distance out of the range of the attack which would allow it to miss him entirely. Whatever the jutsu was it was a mystery to him. To be frank, he didn't care.

"Say... What an interesting turn of events...." thought the lad as he witnessed the commotion of the priestess.

During all of the confusion Kechi used the power of his bloodline to sojourn the space between himself and the priestess. During the battle he was sure to scope the room in search of valuables and he no doubt caught sight of an illustrative pillow that the priestess had been sleeping on. He wanted it. In what seemed like a blink the large pillow appeared in his right hand and trailed on the wooden floor; to an onlooker it would seem as if he hadn't move at all. "Perhaps this wasn't a waste of time after all...." pondered Kechi with a smirk as he looked down at his hand briefly. Not before long the entire temple began to rattle.

Moment later....

While Kasumi spoke to him outside of the temple he said not a word but winked at her casually before smirking and raising his hand to reject her offer of the orb.

"Keep it. I shall come to you for my payment some other time... Kasumi." retorted Kechi without calling her woman. Had he learned to respect her? And just like that in the same moment that the temple had exploded he disappeared in a cloud of white smoke.

Returning not long after, Kechi opened up a certain scroll and sealed the orb from Kasumi within it before leaving once again toward the location of... the Two Tails.
