Land of Sleep
(睡眠の国, "Suimin no Kuni", English TV: "Sleep Country")
A landlocked nation known for its low plains and peaceful nature. Some of the trees in the Sleep Country give off a peculiar gas in the summer and spring time and if one lingers in one place or another for two long they will fall asleep. Some individuals even die as a result of never waking up. The Land of Sleep has sour relations with the Land of Conflict and the Land of Bells on either side of its borders. Its closest ally is the Land of Silence. Many attribute the peace possessed by the peoples of this land to a priestess who is chosen very generation to sleep her entire life; she is actually meditating into the Spiritual Plane and warding off potentially dangerous and wicked spirits, keeping them out of the Land of Sleep's domain.
The center-most province in the Land of Sleep, Shizukesa is the most peaceful. The people within the province have outstanding hospitality and people seem to speak in a shy whisper. Although most of the people of the nation are sheepish and reserved it can be said that this is the case for the most part in Shizukesa. Deep within a misty forest lies a temple where the people are warned never to traverse...
Once the capital province of the Land of Sleep, Okubyo was once sterling. Many, however, have moved from the province in fear of the impending war with the Land of Conflict to the west. The country gets its name for the fickle nature of the people in the province who are terrified of conflicit.
